endless fun in our foam zone – an area filled with
bubbles and laughter all day long.

INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS

Butterfly Encounter
Located this year in the Alabama Wilds, this botanical exhibit is home to hundreds of butterflies of more than 20 species, all native to Alabama. The Butterfly Encounter begins May 1.
Kangaroo Kountry
Children and adults alike can explore this interactive area
that allows visitors to walk to a covered overlook to view
kangaroos and wallabies. Take a personal walkabout
and view a “mob” of Kangaroos lying along the
pathways or jumping throughout the exhibit.
New for 2010, Kangaroo Kounty will be offering special activities that introduce children to the Australian aboriginal culture. Some of the activities will include creating boomerangs, cave painting, making digeridoos, storytime, creating collages, and much more!

Rhino Encounter!
Sat & Sun: 11 am and 3pm
Embark on an African adventure and experience one of the world's most extraordinary animals, the Southern White Rhino. Watch from only feet away as our zookeepers engage in hands-on interaction with the animals inside their new African-themed exhibit. Don't miss this exciting encounter with one of the largest mammals on the planet!
Sea Lion Training Demo

This wet, wild and fun show features the comedic behavior of sea lions, such as talking, whispering, dancing and special interactions with the audience. In between shows, stop by the pool to see our sea lions show off their grace and intelligence all day long.
Lorikeet Aviary

Monday - Friday 10am to Noon
Saturday & Sunday 10am - 4pm
Our Lorikeet Aviary has more birds than ever! Zoo guests can feed these exotic birds every day. You and your family will see these birds' behavior as they eat nectar out of your hand. Open now!

Pelican Feeding
A great way to see our pelicans in action is to witness them eating their favorite treats near the pelican boardwalk.
